Archer County VINE Has Changed
Texas IVSS-Counties replaced the former county VINE service on September 1, 2025. It serves participating county systems and can deliver booking, release, court, escape, death, and TDCJ-transfer notices. Yet the Archer County Sheriff page does not affirmatively name IVSS-Counties. It instead displays an HSI victim-notification item. That mismatch means county participation must be checked on the live portal or through IVSS support at 866-268-8959.
TDCJ operates a separate IVSS portal for state incarceration, parole, and mandatory-supervision events. DHS-VINE is separate again. A county registration does not automatically follow a person transferred to TDCJ, and neither county nor state IVSS replaces a federal locator or DHS notification registration.

Search One Archer County Inmate
The IVSS-Counties portal permits a search without first creating an account. Search only after checking the custody system. A former detainee may disappear because the searchable group is people currently in custody or under supervision.
- Open IVSS-Counties and confirm that Archer appears as a participating county context. If it does not, call support.
- Enter the full first and last name. Partial searches require at least the first three letters of both names.
- Use a DOC ID, SID, Jail ID, or permanent booking number when available to narrow the result.
- Compare identifiers before opening a match. Do not merge two people who share a name.
- Read the custody, supervision, facility, and event fields exactly as displayed, then verify the event with the reporting agency.
The current specific-person search and registration controls are shown on the official IVSS-Counties source.
These controls support a live search and alert setup. They do not create an official Archer County release certificate.
Archer VINE Release Fields
IVSS-Counties may report a custody or supervision event where the county participates. A released event means the reporting agency transmitted a change. It may not describe the legal basis, exact destination, or every hold. Save the event time and ask the Sheriff for the permanent jail-register release-or-transfer entry.

No result is ambiguous. It can mean a spelling or identifier problem, lack of Archer participation, delayed data, or that a former detainee is outside the portal's current searchable population. For a named local person, the Archer County release-record route provides the Sheriff, court, and TDCJ fallback chain.
Register Archer County Release Alerts
Registration should use the controls displayed by the current service. The Texas Attorney General says existing registrations migrated from VINE, but users were instructed to update passwords and preferences. Supported delivery may include text, telephone call, or email, plus preferred hours, blackout dates, and event choices.
- Open the matching current record and select its notification or registration control.
- Choose supported delivery methods and enter current contact details.
- Set contact hours, blackout dates, and event preferences where the portal offers them.
- Complete the live account or confirmation controls. Update a migrated registration's password and preferences.
- Save the support number and recheck contact details. Confirm every critical alert with the Sheriff or TDCJ.

The statewide change is current, but it does not prove Archer County has activated participation.
Confirm Archer County VINE Events
IVSS expressly warns that its information may not be accurate, timely, or complete and is not an official record. Data can lag. A release alert does not always distinguish community release from transfer. An Archer County Jail booking can end with release, transfer to TDCJ, return to another county, or handoff on a hold.
For a TDCJ transfer, search the TDCJ inmate system and create a separate state notification registration. For BOP custody, use the BOP locator. For ICE custody, use the ICE detainee locator. DHS-VINE is a notification service, not evidence that Archer has an ICE detention contract.
Old VINE PIN Is Historical
The former Texas VINE telephone workflow required a four-digit PIN. After hearing an automated event message, the recipient entered the PIN followed by the pound key to acknowledge it and stop repeat calls. Unanswered or unconfirmed calls could repeat. That procedure is historical and was replaced for participating counties on September 1, 2025.
Current Texas Attorney General material does not say the old PIN remains required in IVSS-Counties. Follow the live confirmation and account controls instead of carrying the old step into a new Archer County registration. A person with a migrated registration should update the password and delivery preferences.
Note: A legacy brochure can explain an old alert, but only the live IVSS portal defines today's registration controls.
Archer State and DHS Alerts
A person moved from Archer County Jail to state prison enters a different notification system. TDCJ Victim Services operates TDCJ IVSS for incarceration, parole, and mandatory-supervision events. Registration is also supported through Victim Services at 800-848-4284 or victim.svc@tdcj.texas.gov.
The official TDCJ registration page shows that this state-prison channel is separate from county IVSS.
Use it after a state transfer or for parole events, not as proof of an Archer County Jail release.
The Sheriff's HSI notice points readers toward a federal notification context. The DHS-VINE portal shown below is a separate system.
DHS-VINE does not establish that Archer County Jail participates in IVSS-Counties or holds ICE detainees.
Archer VINE No-Result Checks
A no-result response is not proof that no Archer booking occurred. IVSS-Counties describes a searchable population currently in custody or under supervision. A former detainee may disappear. Coverage may be unavailable, a name may not match, or an event may not have reached the portal.
Try the identifier again. A SID, Jail ID, DOC ID, or permanent booking number is stronger than a common name. If Archer does not appear as a participating county, contact support and call the Sheriff at 940-574-2571. Ask whether the booking ended in release or transfer and request the permanent register entry.
When the Sheriff reports a TDCJ transfer, move to TDCJ search and TDCJ IVSS. A transfer closes the Archer booking but does not mean community release. Each system reports only its own custody slice.
Use Archer Alerts Prospectively
Notification works best when registration is complete before the expected event. Confirm the phone number and email, review blackout settings, and retain support details. A changed number or filtered message can prevent delivery even when an agency transmits an event.
Never rely on an alert as the sole record. IVSS says information may be delayed or incomplete. Record the event description and time, then call the reporting agency. For Archer County Jail, ask whether the endpoint was community release, TDCJ transfer, return to another county, or handoff on a hold.
A court-setting notice also has a limited meaning. It signals a scheduled or changed event, not final disposition or physical release. Read the court record for legal action and the Sheriff register for the custody endpoint.
Archer Registry Is Not VINE
The Texas DPS Sex Offender Registry is a narrow source for people with a statutory registration duty. It may show current identity, address, photograph, and qualifying-offense information after release. It is not a general Archer release list and usually does not supply a jail release date.
An absent registry result says nothing about most releases. VINE and IVSS report custody or supervision events where participating agencies feed data. Keep those systems distinct and verify a release through the actual custodian.
